Gentle, restorative bodywork that helps you feel lighter, calmer, and less puffy — with Diana Ruiz, a certified Vodder-technique lymphatic drainage therapist at The Spa at Fig Garden Village.
Lymphatic drainage massage is a light-pressure, rhythmic technique that works with your body’s lymphatic system — the network just beneath your skin that helps move fluid and waste through your body. Instead of the firm pressure of a deep-tissue massage, it uses slow, gentle, directional strokes to encourage your natural lymph flow. The result is a deeply relaxing session that can leave you feeling lighter and less puffy. At The Spa, Diana uses the Vodder technique — the original, internationally recognized method of manual lymph drainage, and the gold standard for this kind of work.
For everyday wellness — You don’t need a medical reason to benefit. Clients come in to feel lighter and ease puffiness or heaviness, to unwind and calm an overstimulated nervous system, to reset before or after travel or a big event, and to add a gentler, more restorative option to their self-care routine.
For recovery after cosmetic surgery — Lymphatic drainage is a well-known support for comfort and recovery after procedures like liposuction or a tummy tuck. We’re glad to provide gentle post-surgical sessions once your surgeon has cleared you for massage. We work alongside your medical care, never in place of it. If you’re booking for this reason, just let us know and bring your provider’s clearance.
Lymphatic drainage is one of the most relaxing things we offer. The touch is much lighter than a typical massage, and the pace is slower and more rhythmic. Many clients sink into a deep state of calm — and some drift off to sleep entirely. You’ll lie comfortably while Diana works through a sequence of gentle, repetitive strokes that follow the direction of your lymphatic system. There’s no deep kneading and no discomfort — just slow, intentional, soothing movement.

Hi, I’m Diana. I’ve been a licensed massage therapist for over 10 years, with my education at Milan Institute in Clovis, CA and certification through the CAMTC (California Massage Therapy Council). Since then I’ve pursued extensive continuing education in medical massage, and I’m certified in Manual Lymph Drainage using the Vodder Technique through the Academy of Lymphatic Studies — a 40-hour specialized certification. I work across several modalities, including Swedish, hot stone, deep tissue, prenatal, and lymphatic drainage massage. My lymphatic work supports your body’s natural lymph flow, may help reduce puffiness and swelling, and can support comfort and recovery after cosmetic surgery (with your doctor’s clearance). My goal is simple: personalized care that helps you relax, feel lighter, and leave rejuvenated.
Choose the session length that fits your needs. Sessions range from 30 minutes to 2 hours, $135–$270.
Not sure which to pick? Start with 60 minutes. Recovering from surgery? Ask us about scheduling a series of sessions to support your recovery timeline (once cleared by your surgeon).
Before your visit: hydrate well, wear comfortable loose-fitting clothing, avoid a heavy meal in the 1–2 hours before, and complete your intake form ahead of your first visit.
After your session: keep drinking water through the day, move gently (a walk, light stretching, or easy yoga), rest if your body asks for it, and choose light, nourishing meals.
It’s a light-pressure, rhythmic massage technique that follows the direction of your lymphatic system just beneath the skin. Unlike deep-tissue massage that works on muscle, it works at the surface to support your body’s natural lymph flow. At The Spa, Diana uses the Vodder technique — the original, internationally recognized method.
A regular massage uses firmer pressure to release muscle tension. Lymphatic drainage uses very light, repetitive strokes to encourage gentle fluid movement. It’s softer and often even more relaxing — many clients find it the most calming massage they’ve had.
People come in to feel lighter and less puffy, to unwind and calm the nervous system, to reset before or after travel or a big event, and to support comfort and recovery after cosmetic surgery. It’s a wellness and recovery service, not a medical treatment.
Yes — once your surgeon has cleared you for massage. We offer gentle post-surgical sessions to support comfort and recovery, but we always ask that you have clearance from your doctor first. We work alongside your medical care, not in place of it.
It depends on your goal. For general wellness, a single session feels wonderful and many clients return monthly. For post-surgical recovery, your surgeon’s guidance comes first and a series of sessions is common. Diana will talk through a plan with you at your visit.
No. The pressure is very light — much lighter than most people expect. It should feel gentle and soothing the entire time.
Before: hydrate, wear comfortable clothing, and avoid a heavy meal right beforehand. After: keep drinking water, move gently, and rest if you feel like it.
Lymphedema is a medical condition that should be managed by a Certified Lymphedema Therapist (CLT) under medical guidance. Diana’s lymphatic drainage massage is a wellness and recovery service, not medical care for lymphedema. If you’ve been diagnosed, we’re happy to point you toward appropriate care.
